Representatives of the "Innovation, Technology and Strategy Center" under the Ministry of Public Education visited Helsinki, Finland with a working visit on 4-8 November, 2019.
Initially, a meeting was held with the representative of the leadership of the Finnish National Agency for Education Leo Pahkin, where discussed aspects that could be studied from the Finnish education system. Information was also presented on the Public Education system of Uzbekistan and the activities of the ITS Center.
During the visit, the activities of school and extracurricular educational centers in Finland were studied. In particular, the hosts have presented the innovative approach to teaching subjects of STEAM at school, there were organized a participation in the exhibition of educational innovations, a visit to the Futures Laboratory, which teaches new ways of thinking.
The delegation took part in the HundrED Innovation Summit, which is considered one of the world's most prestigious events on innovation of education from November 6-8. The summit, which was opened by Finnish education Minister Li Andersson and Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori, were attended by education innovators from around the world with presentations of their projects. Summit events were held at the Nokia Executive Experience Center in Espoo and the Oodi public library in Helsinki.
Within the framework of the summit, the presentation of the 100 best innovations of 2019 in the field of education around the world was held, as well as explanations by leading donors on the possibilities of financing educational innovations for non-profit organizations. Including the presentation of the program Learning through playing, the head of the special Fund of the famous LEGO company, aroused great interest among the participants. Representatives of such funds as the Qatar International Foundation, The Economist Foundation, Emerge Education also presented.
During the visit, contacts were established with the Finnish National Agency for Education, as well as with educational innovators from around the world. Detailed information has been collected on aspects to be explored in the Finnish education system, as well as the best educational innovations in the world this year, and opportunities for their implementation are being explored
